DID Numbers

Phone numbers in every area code. Provisioned by the carrier.

Local DIDs, toll-free numbers, and vanity numbers from an FCC-licensed carrier. Same-day provisioning, CNAM registration, and A-level STIR/SHAKEN attestation included with every number. No reseller markup.

Every US Area Code

Provision local DIDs in any of the 300+ US area codes from our NANPA-allocated inventory. Metro and rural coverage nationwide. Same-day availability for most area codes.

A-Level Attestation Included

Every DID is automatically registered in our STIR/SHAKEN database. Outbound calls using SIPNEX DIDs receive A-level attestation signed with our own SP-KI certificate.

CNAM Registration Standard

We register your 15-character business name in CNAM databases during provisioning. Your name displays correctly on recipient phones from day one. No extra charge.

Local Presence Pools

Build CID rotation pools across target area codes for outbound campaigns. VICIdial CID group compatible. Spread volume across numbers to protect caller ID reputation.

Inbound + Outbound on Every DID

Every DID supports both inbound routing (calls to you) and outbound CID (calls from you) on the same SIP trunk. No separate inbound and outbound number types.

Bulk Provisioning

Need 500 DIDs across 50 area codes? Volume provisioning with bulk pricing. Managed by carrier engineers who understand call center DID strategy.

Frequently asked questions.

What is a DID number?
DID stands for Direct Inward Dial — a phone number that routes directly to your SIP trunk endpoint without going through an operator. DIDs can be local (geographic area code), toll-free (800/888/877/866/855/844/833), or vanity. On SIPNEX, each DID supports both inbound and outbound calling on the same trunk.
How fast can I get new phone numbers?
SIPNEX provisions local DIDs within 24 hours. We assign numbers from our NANPA-allocated inventory, configure routing, register CNAM, and add the number to your STIR/SHAKEN authorized CID list as part of standard provisioning. Bulk orders across many area codes may take slightly longer depending on inventory.
Can I port my existing phone numbers to SIPNEX?
Yes. FCC regulations guarantee number portability. Submit a Letter of Authorization and we handle the port submission, FOC scheduling, and cutover. Simple ports complete in 7 to 14 business days. You can dial on new SIPNEX DIDs immediately while existing numbers port in the background.
What is local presence dialing?
Local presence dialing displays an outbound caller ID with an area code matching the recipient's area code. When you call a 214 number, your CID shows a 214 number. Answer rates improve 15 to 30 percent compared to non-local or toll-free caller ID. SIPNEX provisions local presence DID pools across all US area codes.
Do DIDs include CNAM registration?
Yes. Every DID provisioned by SIPNEX includes CNAM (Caller ID Name) registration at no additional charge. We register your 15-character business name in the CNAM database so your name displays correctly on inbound and outbound calls. CNAM propagates within 24 to 72 hours.
How many DIDs do I need for my call center?
For outbound local presence with CID rotation: 5 to 10 DIDs per area code you call into, across every target area code. A national outbound operation might use 500 to 3,000 DIDs. For inbound: one DID per routing destination (main line, sales, support). SIPNEX offers volume pricing for large DID orders.
Do all DIDs get A-level STIR/SHAKEN attestation?
Yes. Every DID provisioned or verified by SIPNEX is registered in our STIR/SHAKEN database and receives A-level attestation on outbound calls. We hold our own SP-KI certificate and sign directly — no reseller intermediary, no B-level compromise.
What does a DID cost?
Local DIDs: $1 to $3 per month. Toll-free: $2 to $5 per month. No setup fees, no porting fees. Volume discounts available for large orders. Per-minute usage is billed separately at published wholesale rates. See our pricing page for the full rate card.
